The Japan American Football Association was founded in 1934 and currently oversees junior high school, high school, collegiate and club/corporate teams. Every year since 1984 the organization held the Japan Championship Rice Bowl on January 3rd. The Rice Bowl is held between the winner of the Koshien Bowl, the collegiate champion, and the winner of the Japan X Bowl, the X-League champion.
